Welcome to our practice.

We are a small practice that’s focused on two goals: first to protect the health of your eyes, second to improve the appearance of your eyes. We provide state of the art medical and surgical treatments for various eye diseases such as cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and glaucoma. Dr. Sastry is a board certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in eyelid and facial surgery. Hence, he is one of a few hundred plastic surgeons in the US who is uniquely qualified to treat various eyelid diseases including skin cancer, drooping eyelids, tearduct blockage, thyroid eye disease and cosmetic issues concerning the appearance of your eyes. Dr. Sastry is frequently consulted by other plastic surgeons and other specialists for his expertise. Cosmetic procedures including upper and lower lid blepharoplasty (for excess eyelid skin and puffy, baggy eyes) are performed safely in the office surgical suite.

Our practice was started in the 1960s by eye doctor, Dr. Thomas Diamond. In the 1970s eye doctors, Dr. Marshall Heller joined Dr. Diamond. Both Drs. Diamond and Heller had the reputation of being very ethical and of providing excellent care to their patients in the bay area. When they retired (Dr. Diamond in 2001 and Dr. Heller in 2005), they entrusted their patients to Dr. Sastry who is continuing this tradition. Unlike large medical groups, Dr. Sastry and his staff provide individualized attention to each and every patient. We communicate and coordinate with other doctors/specialists to provide the best possible care for our patients.
